FOR SCHOOLS THAT WORK
FOR SCHOOLS THAT WORK
My goal in serving on the school board is to restore a strong, no-nonsense educational environment focused on academic excellence. Our district has faced serious challenges in recent years, diverting attention from what truly matters, ensuring every child receives a quality education.
It’s time to move past the nonsense and bring stability, collaboration, and experienced leadership to keep our district on the path to recovery. Schools should be places where students are challenged, supported, and prepared for the future. I want to see our district put resources where they belong: into robust academics, well-funded programs, and evidence-based behavioral supports that set kids up for success.
I have called Newberg home for the past nine years, with both of my children attending schools in the Newberg-Dundee School District. As a child psychologist and behavioral health director in pediatric primary care, my work is centered on helping children and families thrive. I have also served in leadership roles in higher education, directing a doctoral program, and in state board leadership. I’m running for the school board because I believe our district needs level-headed leadership to continue focusing on supporting student achievement and ensuring schools that work. We need schools that prioritize learning, innovation, and opportunity.
Every student deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for future success. I will advocate for curriculum innovation, support for teachers, and well-rounded learning opportunities that engage and challenge students.
Our district must be strategic in funding decisions to maximize resources for students and educators. I will push for continued budget transparency and sustainable investments that directly support classroom learning and student services.
Academic success goes hand in hand with emotional and behavioral support. I will work to expand evidence-based programs that promote student mental health, reduce barriers to learning, and create effective school environment.
